Building in Public Update - November 2023
The year is almost coming to a close.
Let’s get to it.
Short intro today, feeling to the point. My name is Amir and I share insights on business and design, along with my experience on building a business in public.
Freelancing revenue has been consistent, and so has the work, so I’m going to stop mentioning this unless there is something very interesting to share about it. If you want more context, read my first post.
Let’s focus on Humblytics…
Added 5 new paying subscribers, churned 2.
Churn is starting to pick up, and I’m going to be working on recovering the cancellations.
Need to consider retention tactics outside of just coupons.
November was a quiet month for us, no major marketing or product push. We were focusing on the consulting services for our client projects - but it was great to see the product running on its own without our time investment.
No major updates aside from UI enhancements to the main app dashboard.
Going to be REAL honest here - Max and I slacked off hard this month on Humblytics. No real progress or product updates; the majority of our focus was on client services.
Our client is working on a new build, so we were primarily focusing on doing usability testing and design QA as they prepare for launch.

So I started using this new tool called SerpDrill, and it’s actually fire.
It’s actually REALLY good. You can create data sets around keywords you want to target for.
I used SerpDrill to start writing keywords based on Webflow Developer search intent and see if we can start ranking for that:
You can get solid insights on KD, volume, and intent and look at the SERP analysis for that query.
The AI writer is SUPER solid, probably one of the best ones I’ve used (copy.ai is solid too) but I like the built-in writing and SEO tools.
These are the two articles I ended up writing:
Update: Amir from the future. Here is the traffic from it on Feb 18, 2023 ↓
It’s slowly picking up; I ended up using URL Monitor to help with page indexing, but I have no clue what I’m doing to improve targeting and keyword optimization.
I’ll figure it out.
Also started posting more on Youtube, 2024 going to go all in on video and content. This is lowkey a full-time job; I don’t know how some people can do it all.
Anyways, that is all for the November update - not much happened, hoping for better momentum in 2024.
